Hanes bywgraffyddol/gweinyddol: The Rev. James William James, of Robeston Wathan, Pembrokeshire, died in 1867. He was the nephew of John Bateman, an attorney of Haverfordwest, brother of the Rev. Thomas Bateman (fl. 1774-1821), whose papers passed to James. James's nephew was William Vaughan James, who may have had dealings with the Carrow family, of Johnston, Pembrokeshire, and the Ferrier family, of Pearson, Pembrokeshire [not located].
