Hanes bywgraffyddol/gweinyddol: The Welsh Counties Committee was established in 1946, under the description of 'the Committee for Wales and Monmouthshire of the County Councils Association'. This was changed in 1947, and the Welsh Counties Committee produced a statement of constitution in 1948, with the aim of ensuring close co-operation between the Welsh County Councils, the County Councils Association and Welsh Government Departments. In 1953, the Association of Welsh Local Authorities was created, representing county and district councils.
