Hanes bywgraffyddol/gweinyddol: Burial boards were established by the Burial Act 1853 to allow parish vestries, borough councils or local boards of health to create and manage new cemeteries. Following the Local Government Act 1894, Presteigne Urban District Council, Radnorshire, could exercise the powers of Burial Boards by purchasing land to provide burial places. The Presteigne Burial Authority was created by the Local Government Act 1972.
