CONTEXT
Administrative and biographical history: Llandrindod Library, Radnorshire, was originally based in a building next to the town hall and was opened in the early 20th century. The library collected records from a variety of sources in Radnorshire including Arthur Stanley Michael (Chief Constable, Radnorshire Constabulary), private estates, Llandrindod Hospital (opened 1880), and Women's Institutes branches in Llandrindod Wells, Howey, Crossgates, Kinnerton and Llanelwedd.
