Hanes bywgraffyddol/gweinyddol: In 1948 the Mid Wales Police Authority was established with the amalgamation of the three separate police authorities of Breconshire, Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire under a single Chief Constable. It was superseded in 1968 by the Dyfed-Powys Police Authority which amalgamated the M.W.P.A. with the police forces of Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The M.W.P.A. had three Chief Constables: Captain H.C. Lloyd, R.E.G. Benbow, and Mr. R.B. Thomas. The records are mainly administrative files.
