Meirionydd Record Office shares a building with Dolgellau Library. The library is signposted from the A470 in Dolgellau.
Parking
Plenty of parking spaces are available at the front and side of the building. There are designated disabled places.
By Bus/Train
There is no train service to Dolgellau. The bus station is about 10 minutes walk away.<br/ >
Meirionnydd Record Office holds records relating to the old county of Merionethshire, including local government archives; public and official archives (courts of law, hospitals etc); private archives including those of families, estates, industry and trade; and archives of ecclesiastical parishes in the diocese of Bangor and St. Asaph.

(Closed 1pm - 2pm for lunch)
Wednesdays - closed
The building is accessible to wheelchair users. There are designated disabled parking spaces available and disabled toilets are provided.
Food: There is no provision to buy food or drink in the library but there is a supermarket a short distance away and several cafes in the town, a 10 minute walk away.
Toilets: Toilets, including disabled toilets, are provided
Shop: Publications and postcards can be purchased in the searchroom.
There is no need to make an appointment to visit the Record Office.
A Reader's Ticket (CARN - County Archive Research Network) is required for access to original material. If you do not have a ticket then you will need to bring proof of identity which includes your address and signature (eg driving licence).
Lockers are provided. No coins are required.
Use of photographic equipment and scanners is not allowed. Photocopies, photographic copies and recordings can be made by the office for a charge. See our website www.gwynedd.gov.uk/archives for a list of charges.
The use of personal laptops is permitted.
The office offers a research service at £12 per half hour.
Children and young people are welcome. An education room is available for the use of children and young people. Resource packs are available for the use of children and young people at the Record Office.
