Exit A55 Expressway at Junction 6. Signposted Rhostrehwfa (A5) Llangefni (A5114). Follow signs for Llangefni (A5114). Take first right turn, then follow signs for Industrial Estate. At first Roundabout take first exit. Continue along this road until you see the sign for the office. Archifau Ynys Môn / Anglesey Archives is located behind ‘SOS Office Solutions’ on your right.
Parking
A free car-park is provided for users of the Record Office.
Anglesey Archives holds records and collections for Anglesey, including census returns, parish registers, non-conformist registers, land tax records, maps, photographs, council records, educational records, crew lists for ships registered at Beaumaris, newspapers and other public and private collections.
Monday: 9:15am - 4:45pm (closed for lunch between 1pm - 2pm)
Tuesday: 2pm - 4:45pm (2pm – 7pm every second and fourth Tuesday of the month)
Wednesday: 9:15am - 4:45pm (closed for lunch between 1pm - 2pm)
Thursday: 9:15am - 4:45pm (closed for lunch between 1pm - 2pm)
Friday: 9:15am - 4:45pm (closed for lunch between 1pm - 2pm)
All public areas of the Anglesey Archives are fully accessible.
Toilets: There are fully accessible toilet facilities
Shop: There is a range of publications for sale, including books on local and family history
The Anglesey Archives Service operates a booking system. Users are therefore required to book a place in the search room in advance of their visit. Bookings can be made in person, by email, telephone or letter. Please be advised that a booking is required for each person wishing to use the service. If you have any special requirements please mention them when booking.
A Reader's Ticket (CARN - County Archive Research Network) is required for access to original material. If you do not have a ticket then you will need to bring proof of identity which includes your address and signature (eg driving licence). A day ticket can also be issued for those without readers' tickets.
Lockers are provided for bags etc.
Photographs, microform print-outs and photocopies can be provided within the restrictions of copyright and depending on the condition of the original. Permits for use of own camera can be purchased.
The use of laptops is permitted and sockets are provided for this purpose.
There is a paid postal research service with an initial charge for the first hour. Please contact Anglesey Archive Service for the current fee.
