Bangor University Archives is situated in the University's main Arts Building which is on College Road, Upper Bangor. Access is via the first door on the right under the metal fire escape.
Parking
Limited parking can be found on the road in Upper Bangor or there are plenty of parking spaces in Lower Bangor which is a 10 minute walk away.
By Bus/Train
The Archive can be reached by bus and is a 10 minute walk from the train station.
The records of the University form the majority of the holdings of the Archive Department. The Archives also holds collections of estate and family papers from the counties of Anglesey, Caernarfon, Flint, Denbigh and Merioneth and a miscellaneous collection of papers in various formats dating from the late 12th Century to the present day.
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
(closed between 1pm - 2pm for lunch)
Accessibility
All areas of the Library and Archives are accessible to wheelchairs. There are disabled toilets in the Main Arts library building.
Food: There is a café situated in the University as well as numerous outlets in Upper Bangor.
Toilets: Toilets are available in the Main Arts building including disabled toilets.
Shop: There is no shop at the University Archives.
No prior booking is required to visit the Archives.
Readers tickets are not required.
Lockers are provided. No coins required.
Photocopies can be provided. Fees apply.
A limited scanning service is available. Fees apply.
Cameras may be used.
All the above are provided at the discretion of the Archivist.
Personal laptops are permitted.
A limited research service is available.
There is no lower age limit for use of the facilities.
