Follow brown signs marked Bersham and Clywedog from either A525 onto B5098 or A483 onto B5605 and B5098, and the Heritage Centre is just off the B5099 west of Wrexham.

There is parking on site.
By BusTrain
The Number 6 bus from the bus station in King Street in the centre of Wrexham. The General train station on the A541 and the the Central train station at Island Green are 5 minutes' walk away from the bus station in King Street.
Wrexham Archives and Local Studies holds records that relate to the history of the County Borough including documents, maps and photographs for local councils, organisations, societies and local people; copies of local church registers of baptism , marriage and burial; civil cemetery records; local census returns; local newspapers; a reference library of books, articles and periodicals.

The archives are on the ground floor and are accessible to wheelchair users. There is an adapted toilet for wheelchair users near to the entrance of the building. Magnifying glasses are available at the enquiry desk.
Food: There are no refreshments on site except for light snacks sold in the shop.
Shop: There is a shop which sells a range of goods including books on local and family history, greeting cards, gifts and maps.
Toilets: There are toilets on site including an adapted toilet for users with a disability.
No appointment is necessary to visit the Centre but it is advisable to book a microfilm reader in advance to ensure availability on your arrival. This can be done by phone, fax or e-mail.
A Reader's Ticket (CARN - County Archive Research Network) is required for access to original material. If you do not have a ticket then you will need to bring proof of identity which includes your name, address and signature (eg driving licence).

Copies of archive material can be provided by staff providing this does not damage the material. There is a self-service photocopier for library material. Copies are provided for personal and private research in line with copyright guidelines and there is a charge. Requests to publish material must be made in writing.
Cameras can be used to photograph documents, within the same guidelines.
Users can use laptops.
Assistance is provided free of charge where possible. For more lengthy research, a research service is available at £15 per hour (one hour minimum, two hours maximum).
There is no lower age limit for use of the service but younger children must be accompanied by an adult.
