    Wales Powering the World

In 2008, Archives and Records Council Wales won funding from the Pilgrim Trust under the National Cataloguing Grants Programme for a project to highlight Wales’ proud industrial past by cataloguing some of its most valuable uncatalogued business collections.

The project is now underway, with both project archivists in place, and working on the catalogues. Stacy Capner is based at Swansea University Archives for two years, and is cataloguing the South Wales collections. Robert Evans is based at Gwynedd Archives, and is cataloguing the North Wales collections.

The collections due to be catalogued are:

    South Wales:
Vivian and Sons Limited, West Glamorgan Archive Service
Emlyn Colliery and Brickworks, Carmarthenshire Archive Service
South Wales Transport Collection, Swansea University Archives
Cardiff Incorporated Chamber of Commerce, Glamorgan Archives
    Powell Duffryn Limited, Glamorgan Archives
Waddle Engineering and Fan Company, Carmarthenshire Archive Service

    North Wales:
Inigo Jones Ltd., Slate Merchants of Nantlle, Gwynedd Archives
Davies Bros., Slate Merchants, Porthmadog, Gwynedd Archives
Coppack Bros. & Co., Connah’s Quay, Flintshire Record Office
Wrexham Lager Company Papers, Wrexham Archives and Local Studies
